Sujana Group of Companies is celebrating its Silver Jubilee this year. To commemorate the Group’s success, Sujana Group has initiated many programs on social entrepreneurship and community development. All these programs are carried out by Sujana Foundation, the CSR arm of Sujana Group.

Sujana Foundation announced Sujana Gold Medals to recognize and celebrate over all achievers in the academics of engineering. This exercise is planned to be conducted on an annual basis. Nominations for Sujana Gold Medals – 2011 were invited from the principals of all engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Nominee’s Academic Excellence, overall outlook, Performance in Extra - Circular activities, their community work and social involvement, their publications/presentations in local, state and national level competitions were considered as parameters in screening and selection process.

The panel of judges selected the best 50 of the nominations received. Sujana Foundation is planning to conduct 5 events across the state to facilitate the winners.

The events are planned to be hosted at Vijayawada, Vizag, Kadapa, Warangal and Hyderabad. The first event is to be conducted at Vijayawada on 21st January 2012 at 10AM - Gateway Hotel, Vijayawada. Dr. G. Gouranga Lal Datta, Vice Chancellor of Koneru Lakshmaiah University, Vijayawada would be the chief guest. Eight Students who were shortlisted from Guntur, Krishna and Prakasam districts are going to receive medals, mementos, certificates and cash awards.Sri Y. S. Chowdary, Chairman, Sujana Group of Companies and Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha will preside over the event.
